Independent & Assisted Living in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

POST-HURRICANE MATTHEW

October 13, 2016

We have established this section of our website to provide you with timely updates on conditions that could affect any of our Vi communities, actions that Vi has taken, and the status of affected communities.

Hilton Head, South Carolina

Thank you for your patience as we've worked through the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. A State of Emergency was declared by South Carolina Gov. Haley, calling for an evacuation of coastal South Carolina, including TidePointe, a Vi community. We complied with the mandatory evacuation order for community residents beginning Wednesday 10/5.

We are satisfied that our assessment of every resident home and apartment, our repair efforts and that our verification of physical plant systems now allow our residents and staff to return to a safe environment.

We are happy to report that residents who evacuated with Vi at Tidepointe staff to Augusta, Georgia have all returned to the community as of 3 pm EST. Many of the residents who evacuated, but did not join the group that settled in Augusta, have also returned today. We welcome back our staff and residents. It's great to have you home.

The town of Hilton Head has rescinded the restriction on drinking water.

We appreciate your patience as we worked through this necessary process and encourage you to continue to check this site, or call our toll-free number, (866) 416-0225. You may also reach us via email at emergencyinfo@ViLiving.com.
